Meet the Cast

Allison Fronzaglia she/her (Poseidon) After working in stage production roles last semester, Allison is thrilled to make her college on-stage debut as Poseidon. This is such an incredible show, and she is honored to be a part of it!

Lauren Price she/her (Athena, Assistant Fight Director) Lauren is thrilled to be back on the Gundlach stage for her fourth semester! Lauren is a Musical Theater and Music double major. She has also appeared in The Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Dinah Grayson), Godspell (Marianne Williamson), Assassins (Ensemble), Circle Mirror Transformation (Lauren), Measure For Measure (Marianna), and Fiorello! (Nina). She serves as the costume shop manager and Concert Choir Attire Coordinator. She is also a member of the Heidelberg University Marching Band and Concert Choir. This show has been an honor to work on with her fellow cast, directors, and production team! Lauren would like to thank her family, friends, and professors for their endless support!

Amelia Hammond she/her (Talthybius/Costume Construction) is so pleased to start off the spring semester of her junior year with a powerful production of Trojan Women! She is a third-year theatre major with a concentration in acting. Amelia has previously performed in The SpongeBob Musical (Plankton), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Cecile Volanges), Measure For Measure (Pompey), One Man, Two Guvnors (Alfie/Old Man), 26 Pebbles (Yolie/Jeriann/Sally), and Godspell (Learn Your Lessons Well soloist). She would like to thank Madeline Grace Jones for joining Heidelberg Theatre to direct this fabulous production. She is so grateful to have learned from her as both a director and an actor.

Conor Wells he/him (Menelaus) is a first year MT and Psychology major at Heidelberg University. He has previously been seen in Godspell (Ensemble) and You Just Never Know (Policeman). He is thankful for the Director making this show possible and his mother for making sacrifices to allow him to be at Heidelberg.

Becca Shoemaker she/her (Hecuba) is a Freshman Musical Theatre major at Heidelberg University. She is from Mansfield Texas. Some of her favorite roles she has done in the past include Cady Heron (Mean Girls the Musical), Giacinta (Scapino), Mary (The Bald Soprano), and Sheree Holinger (Sweet Delilah Swim Club). She is also part of the Heidelberg University Concert Choir. Special thanks from Becca go to her family, friends, castmates, and directors.

Mackenzie Ludwig she/her (Helen of Troy/ Head of Hair and Makeup) is a junior majoring in theatre with a concentration in acting and minor in psychology. She was previously in Sweet Delilah Swim Club(Jeri-Neal), You Just Never Know(Mo), Fiorello (Chorus Cutie), Measure for Measure (Varrius), Circle Mirror Transformation (Theresa), and Assassins (Ensemble) at Heidelberg. Along with acting, she was also head of hair and makeup for 26 Pebbles, Circle Mirror Transformation, One Man Two Guvnors, and The Letter G. Before coming to Heidelberg she was in Pride and Prejudice (Elizabeth Bennet) and Annie (Lily St. Regis) at Eisenhower High School. Mack hopes everyone enjoys the show, bringing Greek messages into modern times.

Melany Menendez she/her (Andromache) is a First Year Acting Major at Heidelberg University who is thrilled to continue her journey. She assisted in directing the Fall production of Godspell at Heidelberg University and she is excited to see the performers' perspectives. Melany would like to thank Karla for the opportunities and belief in growth and perseverance.

Hannah Lewis she/her (Cassandra) is a sophomore theatre major and is thrilled to be working on another fantastic show here at Heidelberg. She has adored getting to know Greek Tragedy and the ins and ours of classical theatre. Hannah also has appeared in various productions on the Heidelberg stage including Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Vernidette),The Half Life of Marie Curie (Marie), Assassin's (Squeaky), Measure for Measure (Lucio) and Godspell (By My Side). She has also worked as props, dramaturg, stage management and assistant set design on various productions since coming to Heidelberg and has loved the opportunity to work on both sides. Hannah is so thankful for this opportunity and wants to thank Madeline, Autumn and Vee for all there work in creating an inclusive rehearsal environment. She also wants to thank her castmates for being so much fun to work with throughout this production and creating a beautiful work space to play. She hopes you enjoy the show!!

Serria Allen she/they (Chorus, Hecuba Understudy), is a Senior English and Media major and is honored to be a part of Trojan Woman! Serria has been a part of the theater department since their Freshman year at Heidelberg. She has previously acted in Addams Family (Ensemble), Chicago (Select Dance Ensemble), and Assassins! (Ensemble/Proprietor U/S), Spongebob the Musical (Electric Skate #1/Ensemble/Plankton U/S) and Godspell (Ensemble, “Turn Back O’ Man soloist U/S). Serria was also a part of Cinderella (Assistant Stage Manager), Wendy and Peter (Assistant Stage Manager) Measure for Measure (Assistant Stage Manager), Les Liaison Dangereuse (Sound Designer/Operator), Fiorello! (Sound Mixer), One Man Two Guvnor’s (Sound Designer), The Woman in Black (Assistant Director/Stage Manager/Marketing), Rocky Horror (Director), 26 Pebbles (Sound Designer). They have also been the show photographer for many Mainstage and Black Box performances! After graduation, Serria plans on taking a gap year before pursuing her MFA in Creative Writing. They would like to thank Madeline Grace Jones for her time, and dedication, and for making Serria’s last mainstage show memorable.

Meg Amburgey she/her (Chorus) is thrilled to be a part of Heidelberg’s production Trojan Women. She would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her!

Holly Ashford she/her (Chorus) is a freshman majoring in Musical Theatre. She is from Spring, Texas, located just North of Houston. A few of the shows she has been seen in include Cinderella -The Enchanted Edition- (Fairy Godmother), West Side Story (Anita), The Music Man (Marian), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Ensemble), Beauty and The Beast(Madame de la Grande Bouche), and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator). Holly is very excited to be making her first appearance on the Heidelberg stage. She is incredibly grateful to God, the amazing cast and crew that has shown her so much support in this process, and her family and friends back home.

Lily Brown they/them (Chorus Member, Helen U/S) is a first year musical theatre and media double major with a minor in business administration here at Heidelberg University! They were previously seen in Godspell as a member of the ensemble and they also worked as assistant stage manager for The Sweet Delilah Swim Club. Outside of theatre, Lily is also involved in the concert choir and chamber singers. They’d like to thank all their friends and family, and they hope you enjoy the show!

Bailey Grizzell she/her (Ensemble and Dramaturg) - Bailey is very excited to be apart of Trojan Women. This is her first ever Greek play. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Lavannah Hamilton she/her (Chorus Member) is a freshman Musical Theater major who is excited to make her first official theatre debut as a chorus member in Trojan Women. She has had no previous acting experience in theatre, but she is thrilled to start now! Lavannah is extremely grateful to be a part of this show, and she cannot wait for all of the wonderful shows this semester.

Lainey Miller she/her (Soldier/Understudy Poseidon) is so excited to continue her freshman year doing Trojan Women. Lainey is majoring in Theatre with an Acting concentration. At Heidelberg so far she has performed in Godspell (chorus) and has previously performed in The Little Mermaid (Windward), Peter Pan (Nana/The Croc), Fiddler on the Roof (Frumah-Sarah), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Judah), and Radium Girls (Ms. Wiley/Irene). She would like to thank her parents and her boyfriend for being so supportive in following her love of theatre into college. Lainey would also like to thank Madeline Jones for the opportunities and experience throughout this whole process.

Jozey Norgren she/her (Chorus/Marketing Director) is so happy to be apart of this beautiful show! She is a freshman at Heidelberg University and has recently moved here from Phoenix, Arizona. She is thankful for the past few years she spent with the QC Theatre Company (her high school theatre) and is excited to experience a new challenge in Musical theatre at Heidelberg. She thanks her Mom for being the backbone of her career and allowing her to pursue this which has ultimately allowed her to become successful in her field , and fortunately be nominated (and win) awards for it! Becca Young she/her (Soldier/Chorus u/s Menelaus) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre with a Concentration in Acting and double minoring in Business and Psychology. She is ecstatic to be a part of her sixth main stage production, previously making her Gundlach debut in Fiorello!, Friar Peter in Measure For Measure, Boy Scout Leader/ Gareth in One Man Two Guvnors and various ensemble roles in Assassins (ensemble/ Emma Goldman understudy), Godspell (ensemble), and most recently in 26 Pebbles as Actor 1.

Madeline Grace Jones (Director) is a multidisciplinary artist from Desoto, Tx. She's delighted to direct this beautiful piece at Heidelberg University. Madeline received her Masters in Classical Acting from The Old Globe and The University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre program. Credits: The Old Globe: Henry 6 Play One and Two, Fat Ham, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Twelfth Night, The Age of Innocence. The Old Globe/USD Shiley M.F.A. Program: Gertrude in 12 Ophelias, Lucio in Measure for Measure. Recent: CBS “Legends of the Hidden Temple.” Education: B.F.A. in Acting, minor in Rhetoric, Religion, and MT from Drake University. Regional: Sofia in The Color Purple, The Wiz in The Wiz, Margaret in Much Ado, West Side Story, Godspell, Maggie in Working, 2019 Company Assistant Artistic Director (Hope Rep Theatre), leading actress (Bright Star Touring Theatre), 2019–2020 associate member company, Head Over Heels, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Memphis (Playhouse on the Square). Have worked all over the world, she has fallen in love with lighting her empathetic campfire through storytelling in every media facet that challenges the norm. When she’s not on the stage, she’s probably singing karaoke, watching Queen Latifah movies, playing basketball, and or on the dj board playing 90’s house music. Her life quote is that a candle loses no light by lighting another candle. She continues to push to bring representation and opportunity to POC and queer voices. Karla Kash she/her (Fight Director/Intimacy Director), is grateful to have worked with the incredibly creative cast and production team, especially our guest director, Madeline Grace Jones, her former student. Ms. Kash has previously directed productions of Godspell, Assassins, Wendy and Peter Pan, SpongeBob the Musical, and Measure for Measure at Heidelberg, and she has also choreographed Fiorello!
Professor Kash is in her third year as an Associate Professor and Director of Theatre at Heidelberg University. This marks her nineteenth year as a full-time educator at the university level. Karla feels blessed to be a part of the Heidelberg team and the Tiffin community.
Ms. Kash is a professional director and choreographer member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers. She is also a professional actor and a member of the Actors' Equity Association. Additionally, she is a fight director trained in six weapons by the Society of American Fight Directors and trained in intimacy direction. Ms. Kash is certified in Mental Health First Aid and has completed Green Dot training.
Some of Ms. Kash’s favorite roles as an actor are Barbara in August: Osage County at Repertory Theatre of Iowa; Susan in the musical [title of show] and Becca in Rabbit Hole at StageWest; Diana in Next to Normal at Des Moines Onstage; Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet at American Theatre for Actors in NYC (and was the production's fight director); and Martha in A Piece of My Heart at the Metropolitan Playhouse, NYC. Karla’s most incredible experience as an actor is playing Josie in A Moon for the Misbegotten opposite her mentor, the late Jonathan McMurtry, at North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach, CA, under the direction of David Ellenstein.
Ms. Kash’s favorite productions as a professional director, choreographer, and/or fight director are Parade, Jerry Springer the Opera, Spring Awakening, and Avenue Q for StageWest; West Side Story, Rock of Ages, and The Wedding Singer for The Des Moines Playhouse; The Glass Menagerie, Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, and Twelfth Night for The Repertory Theatre of Iowa; The World Goes ‘Round for The International Lyric Academy in Italy; and Shipwrecked at The Black Hills Playhouse. A career highlight for Karla was doing the fight direction for the Broadway National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles.
Ms. Kash earned a BFA in Acting with an emphasis in Dance, Directing, and Musical Theatre from Wright State University and an MFA in Acting with a focus on Classical Theatre and Movement Studies from Brandeis University.
Karla is excited to be a new member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and a Faculty Adviser to the Board of Trustees at Heidelberg. Professor Kash's proudest accomplishment in her educational career was receiving the distinguished Madlyn Levitt Mentor of the Year award at Drake University, where she was also granted tenure.

Dr. Doug McConnell he/him (Composer) is Professor Emeritus of Composition and Music for the School of Music and Theater at Heidelberg University His compositions have been performed throughout the U.S. and internationally. Doug has written for a variety of performing mediums, but he especially enjoys writing for voices; his work in this area includes a variety of works for choirs. He has also composed several song cycles and collections, based on poetry by Langston Hughes, Sara Teasdale and William Reyer. Over the years, Dr. McConnell has enjoyed composing incidental music for the Heidelberg Theatre program; this tradition continues with this production. Previous shows include The Visit, The Crucible, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Oedipus Rex, Lysistrata, Eurydice and Measure for Measure.

Autumn Perry she/her (Production Stage Manager/ Master Electrician) is a Senior Theatre Production and English Literature double major with a minor in Business Administration. Autumn is overjoyed to be the Production Stage Manager and Master Electrician for the Main Stage production of Trojan Women this February. Autumn has previously been involved in Heidelberg's productions of The Addams Family (Assistant Stage Manager), Eurydice (Production Stage Manager), Chicago (Production Stage Manager), Misery (Sound Designer), Top Girls (Sound Designer), Spooky-Dog and the Teen-Aged Gang Mysteries (Sound Designer), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Production Stage Manager), Porch (Light Designer), Spongebob (Assistant Technical Director), Fiorello! (Production Stage Manager), The Woman in Black (Scenic Designer), Measure for Measure (Production Stage Manager), One Man, Two Guvnors (Production Stage Manager), The Letter G (Sound Designer), Assassins (Production Stage Manager, Sound Designer, Ast. Lighting Designer, Ast. Scenic Designer) Godspell (Master Electrician), You Just Never Know (Director), The Half-Life of Marie Curie (Sound Designer), 26 Pebbles (Production Stage Manager, Master Electrician, Props Designer), and most recently The Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Sound Designer). Autumn also holds the position of Vice President for Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honorary, and Make-A-Scene, Heidelberg's Improv Troupe.

V Reynhout they/them (Assistant Stage Manager & Assistant Scenic Charge) is a Freshman Theatre Production major and Business minor at Heidelberg University. V is ecstatic to tackle their second and final main-stage production under the guidance of Production Stage Manager Autumn Perry. Though this is but their fourth production with Heidelberg, V is no stranger to technical theatre, having worked on various shows such as She Kills Monsters (Production Stage Manager), Freaky Friday (Deck Chief), The Diary of Anne Frank (Assistant Technical Director), The Little Mermaid (Assistant Stage Manager), and You Just Never Know (Production Stage Manager). V would like to thank their dear friend, Zion Pinell, for being their light and their voice of reason this semester.

Zaria Keys she/her (Assistant Director) was this production’s Assistant Director! She had a blast being able to assist in this performance and can’t wait for it to be displayed on the mainstage! It was so enthralling to be able to learn alongside the production’s director Madeline Grace Jones and immersing herself in her unique and creative approach to telling this enthralling story. Zaria also created the Trojan Horse, which was a challenging but exciting experience and she is excited to see it within the performance. She wants to thank our phenomenal director, Madeline, for being so open and gracious throughout the process. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Sam Barker he/him (Light Board Operator, Assistant Scenic Charge) is a current junior pursuing Theater Production and a minor in Art. Having transferred from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and previously studying Art and Philosophy, he is honored to have the opportunity to assist the talented cast and crew in this production. Katherine Albright she/her (Stage Crew) is an AYA English Education Major with a minor in Theatre and Business Administration. This is her second semester working with the Rock Creek Review, and first semester as the managing editor. She has been involved in other campus extracurriculars such as the Concert Choir and Studio2Stage. Katherine is also an active member of Zeta Theta Psi corollary and is proud to be a Zeta Ember.
