Sydney Mendez They/Them (Emma Nolan) is a Sophomore Musical Theatre major. They are so excited to be playing their dream role in this their fifth show here. Sydney was previously cast in Godspell (“We Beseech Thee” soloist), Assassins (Ensemble), Measure for Measure (Ensemble), Fiorello! (Ensemble), and just directed their first show, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)! They would like to thank Karla Kash for this incredible opportunity, and their family back home in FL for all their love and support!

Meg Amburgey She/Her (DeeDee Allen) is thrilled to be a part of Heidelberg’s production The Prom. Other shows at Heidelberg include One Man, Two Guvnors (Pauline), Godspell (Day by Day Soloist), and most recently The Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Lexie Richards) She would like to thank her family, friends, and teachers for always supporting her!

Conor Wells He/Him (Barry) is a first year MT and Psychology major at Heidelberg University. He has previously been seen in Godspell (Ensemble), You Just Never Know (Policeman), and Trojan Women (Menelaus). He is thankful for the Director making this show possible and his mother for making sacrifices to allow him to be at Heidelberg.

Jozey Norgren She/Her (Alyssa Green/Co-Marketing) is so happy to be a part of this beautiful show! She is a freshman at Heidelberg University and has recently moved here from Phoenix, Arizona. She is thankful for the past few years she spent with the QC Theatre Company (her high school theatre) and is excited to experience a new challenge in Musical theatre at Heidelberg. She thanks her Mom for being the backbone of her career, and would also like to thank Kye (her best friend) who she dedicates every show too every night. (@_just_jozey)

Simon Paul Fletcher He/Him (Trent Oliver) is a sophomore Vocal Performance Major here at Heidelberg and is also involved with the Concert Choir (Tenor), and the Marching Band (Sousaphone). Simon performed in Assassin's (2024) here at Heidelberg and last seasons production of Godspell (Elton John). Simon also just finished up a production of Cabaret at The Ritz (Tiffin) last February, where he played Emcee/Master of Ceremonies. Simon is excited to share his portrayal of Trent Oliver and can't wait for the coming Theater season.

Amelia Hammond She/Her (Angie Dickinson/Costume Construction) is so proud to end her junior year with Heidelberg in this incredible production of The Prom! She is a third-year theatre major with a concentration in Acting. Amelia has previously performed in The SpongeBob Musical (Plankton), One Man, Two Guvnors (Alfie/Old Man), 26 Pebbles (Yolie/Jeriann/Sally), Godspell (Learn Your Lessons Well soloist), and Trojan Women (Talthybius). She would like to dedicate this performance to Kam Mohney, Elayna Brock, and Pam Shirtz who inspired her to become a true Fosse girl freshman year in their production of Chicago. She would like to thank her dear friend and stage manager, Autumn Perry, for being a part of every show she’s done at Heidelberg and for being her biggest role model. She would also like to thank her graduating friends: Zaria Keys, Riley Ameel, and Lexy Saxon for giving her the best years at Heidelberg.

Dermot Healy He/Him (Mr. Hawkins) is excited to be returning to Gundlach  in this production of The Prom. His other shows include 26 Pebbles(Actor 3) You Just Never Know(Geoff), Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins(Charles Guiteau), One Man, Two Guuvnors(Harry Dangle), Measure for Measure(Escalus), Fiorello!(Ensamble), SpongeBob(Gary), The Other Place(Man), Wendy and Peter Pan(Tom), and Chicago(Ensemble).

Lauren Price She/Her (Sheldon) Lauren is thrilled to be back on the Gundlach stage for her fourth semester! Lauren is a Musical Theater and Music double major. She has also appeared in Trojan Women (Athena),  The Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Dinah Grayson),  Godspell (Marianne Williamson), Assassins (Ensemble), Circle Mirror Transformation (Lauren), Measure For Measure (Marianna), and Fiorello! (Nina). She serves as the costume shop manager and Concert Choir Attire Coordinator. She is also a member of the Heidelberg University Marching Band and Concert Choir. This show has been an honor to work on with her fellow cast, directors, and production team! She hopes the message of this show can really reach people. Lauren would like to thank her family, friends, and professors for their endless support!

Amy Berger She/Her (Mrs. Greene) is excited for the opportunity to appear with the newest group of talented Berg theatre students. Other recent Heidelberg productions include The Half-Life of Marie Curie (Director), Endgame (Nell), and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (Siobhan). Amy is also active in local community theatre; she recently appeared in The Play That Goes Wrong (Inspector Carter) with the Ritz Players, and Silent Sky (Williamina) with the Fremont Community Theatre. Many thanks to the crew and cast for welcoming the scientist who wandered across Greenfield Street!

Grace Thomas She/Her (Kaylee/Ensemble) is so excited to be a part of this production! She feels incredibly honored to be involved in the telling of this important story, especially in this political climate! She’s a sophomore musical theatre major here at Heidelberg, and this is her 8th production she’s been a part of! She hopes you enjoy the show!!

Matthew Strouse He/Him (Kevin/Ensemble) is a freshman at Heidelberg University majoring in Environmental Science/Sustainability and Education, as well as minoring in Business. Being a part of The Prom, Concert Choir, and Chamber Singers has made him feel so grateful and fulfilled. He would like to thank his family and friends for all of their support, and he can't wait for you to enjoy the show!

Mackenzie Ludwig She/Her (Olivia Keating/Godspell Member/Ensemble/Assistant Intimacy Director/Dance Captain) is a junior majoring in theatre with a concentration in acting and minor in psychology. She was previously in Trojan Women (Helen of Troy), Sweet Delilah Swim Club(Jeri-Neal), You Just Never Know(Mo), Fiorello (Chorus Cutie), Measure for Measure (Varrius), Circle Mirror Transformation (Theresa), and Assassins (Ensemble) at Heidelberg. Along with acting, she was also head of hair and makeup for 26 Pebbles, Circle Mirror Transformation, One Man Two Guvnors, and The Letter G. Before coming to Heidelberg she was in Pride and Prejudice (Elizabeth Bennet) and Annie (Lily St. Regis) at Eisenhower High School. Mack hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Becca Shoemaker She/Her (Motel Clerk/Godspell Member/Ensemble/Shelby U.S./Hair and Makeup Designer) is a Freshman Musical Theatre major at Heidelberg University. She is from Mansfield Texas. Some of her favorite roles she has done in the past include Cady Heron (Mean Girls the Musical), Giacinta (Scapino), Hecuba (Trojan Women), and Sheree Holinger (Sweet Delilah Swim Club). She is also part of the Heidelberg University Concert Choir. It has been her pleasure to perform in this show and help tell this wonderful story. Special thanks from Becca go to her family, friends, castmates, and directors.

Holly Ashford She/Her (Reporter/Godspell Cast Member/Ensemble) is a freshman majoring in Musical Theatre. She is from Spring, Texas, located just North of Houston. A few of the shows she has been seen in include Cinderella -The Enchanted Edition- (Fairy Godmother), West Side Story (Anita), The Music Man (Marian), Beauty and The Beast (Madame de la Grande Bouche), Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), amd two of Heidelberg’s most recent productions of Godspell and Trojan Women. Holly is very excited to be making another appearance on the Heidelberg stage. She is incredibly grateful to God, the amazing cast and crew that has shown her so much support in this process, and her family and friends back home.

Evan Eaglin He/Him (Coach/Godspell Cast Member/Ensemble) is a freshman History and Education double major, with a minor in Theater at Heidelberg University. He is from Friendship, Indiana. Before The Prom, Evan appeared in several shows for his highschool’s theater productions. These roles include Tinman (“Wizard of Oz”), Orin Scrivello (“Little Shop of Horrors”), Sam Carmichael (“Mama Mia”), himself (Godspell), and Professor Plum (“Clue”). Special thanks from Evan go to his family, friends and God.

Bailey Grizzell She/Her (Godspell Cast Member/Ensemble) is very excited to be a part of this show. She thinks the message is more important than ever and hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Hannah Lewis She/Her (Godspell Member #1/Ensemble/U.S. Emma/Props) is a sophomore theatre major and is thrilled to be doing this musical. This show is so important for our time and is proud to have told it with these people. Hannah also has appeared in various productions on the Heidelberg stage including Trojan Women (Cassandra), Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Vernidette),The Half Life of Marie Curie (Marie), Assassin's (Squeaky), Measure for Measure (Lucio) and Godspell (By My Side). She has also worked as props, dramaturg, stage management, and more on various productions since coming to Heidelberg and has loved the opportunity to work on both sides. Hannah is grateful to Karla for giving her the opportunity to sing and dance to this upbeat musical and enjoy this time with her friends. She also wants to thank her castmates for being bringing the energy she needs in this world. She also wants to thank the crew for there commitment and time creating this wonderful work environment. Lastly She wants to thank her family for supporting her in everything she does. She hopes you enjoy the show!!!

Katherine Albright She/Her (Reporter/Ensemble) is excited to be on the Gundlach stage for her sophomore year. She is an AYA English Education Major with a minor in Theatre and Business. This is her fifth show as a Heidelberg student, and in the past has performed as a member of the ensemble in Fiorello!, Measure for Measure, Assassins and Godspell. She has performed with the Concert choir, Studio2Stage, and is the Managing Editor for this year’s edition of the Rock Creek Review. Katherine looks forward to this and future performances with the Heidelberg School of Music and Theatre.

Melany Menendez She/Her (Reporter/Announcer/Ensemble) is a First Year Acting Major at Heidelberg University who is thrilled to continue her journey. She assisted in directing the Fall production of Godspell at Heidelberg University and had the opportunity to play the role of Andromache in the spring production of Trojan Women. She is excited to see the performers' perspectives and to be a part of this production. Melany would like to thank Karla for the opportunities and belief in growth and perseverance.

Lainey Miller She/Her (Parent/Ensemble/Sheldon U.S.) is so excited to finish off her freshman year doing The Prom. Lainey is majoring in Theatre with an Acting concentration. At Heidelberg so far she has performed in Godspell (chorus), Trojan Women (Soldier), and has previously performed in The Little Mermaid (Windward), Peter Pan (Nana/The Croc), Fiddler on the Roof (Frumah-Sarah), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Mrs. Poticher/Judah), and Radium Girls (Ms. Wiley/Irene). She would like to thank her parents and her boyfriend for being so supportive in following her love of theatre into college. Lainey would also like to thank Karla Kash for the opportunities and experience throughout this whole process.

Sophia Wilkinson She/Her (Reporter/Ensemble) is so happy and grateful to be back on the Gundlach stage for her second semester of her freshman year. Sophia has previously performed in You Just Never Know (Claire), and Trojan Women (Chorus/Astyanax). Sophia would like to thank Karla Kash and Justin Delong for always creating a fun, supportive, and safe environment, and would like to thank her entire family for always being so supportive of her passion.

Abbey Yarris She/Her (Parent/Ensemble) is a senior Vocal Performance major with a minor in Business Administration at Heidelberg University. She is thrilled to be making her debut in a Heidelberg Theatre production as an ensemble member. Abbey is an active participant in several musical ensembles at Brenneman Music Hall, including the Heidelberg University Concert Choir, the Heidelberg University Marching Band—where she served as Drum Major and Uniform Quartermaster—and the Symphonic Band. In addition to her musical pursuits, Abbey serves as the President of Tau Mu Sigma, the music honorary on campus. She would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to her voice teacher, Dr. Renée Clair, for her invaluable guidance and support throughout Abbey’s final semester, helping her balance her vocal needs with academic and performance demands.

Karla Kash, She/Her (Director/Choreographer/Intimacy Director), is grateful to have worked on this funny, poignant, and incredibly relevant show with such a talented production team and cast. Ms. Kash has previously directed productions of Godspell, Assassins, Wendy and Peter Pan, SpongeBob the Musical, and Measure for Measure at Heidelberg, and she has also choreographed Fiorello!  

 

Professor Kash is in her third year as an Associate Professor and Director of Theatre at Heidelberg University. This marks her nineteenth year as a full-time educator at the university level. Karla feels blessed to be a part of the Heidelberg team and the Tiffin community.

 

Ms. Kash is a professional director and choreographer and a member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers. She is also a professional actor and an Actors' Equity Association member. Additionally, she is a fight director trained in six weapons by the Society of American Fight Directors and trained in intimacy direction. Ms. Kash is certified in Mental Health First Aid and has completed Green Dot training.

 

Some of Ms. Kash’s favorite roles as an actor are Barbara in August: Osage County at Repertory Theatre of Iowa; Susan in the musical [title of show] and Becca in Rabbit Hole at StageWest; Diana in Next to Normal at Des Moines Onstage; Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet at American Theatre for Actors in NYC (and was the production's fight director); and Martha in A Piece of My Heart at the Metropolitan Playhouse, NYC. Karla’s most incredible experience as an actor is playing Josie in A Moon for the Misbegotten opposite her mentor, the late Jonathan McMurtry, at North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach, CA, under the direction of David Ellenstein.

 

Ms. Kash’s favorite productions as a professional director, choreographer, and/or fight director are Parade, Jerry Springer the Opera, Spring Awakening, and Avenue Q for StageWest; West Side Story, Rock of Ages, and The Wedding Singer for The Des Moines Playhouse; The Glass Menagerie, Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, and Twelfth Night for The Repertory Theatre of Iowa; The World Goes ‘Round for The International Lyric Academy in Italy; and Shipwrecked at The Black Hills Playhouse. A career highlight for Karla was doing the fight direction for the Broadway National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles.

 

Ms. Kash earned a BFA in Acting with an emphasis in Dance, Directing, and Musical Theatre from Wright State University and an MFA in Acting with a focus on Classical Theatre and Movement Studies from Brandeis University. 

 

Professor Kash's proudest accomplishment in her educational career was receiving the distinguished Madlyn Levitt Mentor of the Year award at Drake University, where she was also granted tenure.

Justin DeLong he/him (Music Director) teaches voice lessons and directs theatre productions for Tiffin University as an Assistant Professor of Commercial Music. He holds a master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy with emphasis in Contemporary Commercial Music from Shenandoah University and is a trained vocalist in musical theatre, pop, rock, and other commercial genres. He specializes in contemporary, evidence-based vocal pedagogy, and has also been trained in gender-affirming voice care for trans and non-binary individuals. In addition to his work as a teacher and director, he is active as a clinician, adjudicator, and presenter around the Midwest. Justin has extensive experience as an accompanist and music copyist/transcriptionist and is a commissioned arranger. His arrangements have been performed in a wide variety of venues, including by Broadway stars Laura Benanti and Micaela Diamond at the famed cabaret restaurant 54 Below in New York City. He has also sung with multiple choirs, vocal jazz groups, and a cappella groups. So far, Justin has directed Next to Normal, tick, tick...BOOM!, Almost, Maine, The Upstairs Department, and an original musical revue called The Human Heart for TU. His favorite music directing credits prior to working in academia include Godspell with Hornet’s Nest Theatre (MD and conductor), Bright Star with the Little Theatre of Alexandria (assistant MD), and Newsies with The Arlington Players (MD), for which he received a Washington Area Theatre Community Honors award for Outstanding Musical Direction. 

 

Autumn Perry She/Her - Warren, MI (Production Stage Manager/Master Electrician/Sound Designer) is a Senior Theatre Production and English Literature double major with a minor in Business Administration and is greateful to be apart of the Main Stage production of The Prom this April. Autumn has previously been involved in Heidelberg's productions of The Addams Family (Assistant Stage Manager), Eurydice (Production Stage Manager), Chicago (Production Stage Manager), Misery (Sound Designer), Top Girls (Sound Designer), Spooky-Dog and the Teen-Aged Gang Mysteries (Sound Designer), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Production Stage Manager), Porch (Light Designer), Spongebob (Assistant Technical Director), Fiorello! (Production Stage Manager), The Woman in Black (Scenic Designer), Measure for Measure (Production Stage Manager), One Man, Two Guvnors (Production Stage Manager), The Letter G (Sound Designer), Assassins (Production Stage Manager, Sound Designer, Ast. Lighting Designer, Ast. Scenic Designer) Godspell (Master Electrician), You Just Never Know (Director), The Half-Life of Marie Curie (Sound Designer), 26 Pebbles (Production Stage Manager, Master Electrician, Props Designer), The Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Sound Designer), Trojan Women (Production Stage Manager/ Master Electrician), and most recently, Birthday Candles (Master Electrician/ Light Designer). Autumn also holds the position of Vice President for Alpha Psi Omega, the National Theatre Honorary, and Make-A-Scene, Heidelberg's Improv Troupe.

 

Sam Barker (He/Him) (Co-Set Designer/Assistant Stage Manager/Assistant Scenic Charge) is a current junior from Upper Sandusky, Ohio, pursuing a major in Theater Production and a minor in Art. Having transferred from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and previously studying Art and Philosophy, he is honored to have the opportunity to assist the talented cast and crew in this production. Some of Sam’s previous works at Heidelberg include: Circle Mirror Transformation (Assistant Stage Manager), One Man Two Guvnors (Crew/Assistant Scenic Charge), Assassins (Assistant Stage Manager/Assistant Scenic Charge), The Letter G (Props Designer), Godspell (Scenic Charge/Crew), Rocky Horror Picture Show (Props Designer/Crew), 26 Pebbles (Assistant Lighting Designer/Sound Board Operator), Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Props Designer/Crew), The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (Light Board Operator), and Trojan Women (Assistant Scenic Charge/Light Board Operator)  He would also like to thank his parents and friends for all of their love and support.

 

Lavannah Hamilton She/Her (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman Musical Theater major who is excited to work on such an amazing and inspiring show. Lavannah is extremely grateful to be a part of this show, and is very glad to spread this message of acceptance and community to those who need to hear it.

Katrina Kohman she/her (Keyboard 2) is thrilled to make her debut in the Heidelberg University pit orchestra for “The Prom”.  Katrina has taught choir and theater at Gibsonburg High School and Middle School since 2009. She has performed on the stage with the Ritz players and Bellevue Society for the Arts. Katrina has previously performed in the pit orchestra with Fremont Community Theatre for their show “Kinky Boots”. Katrina resides in Gibsonburg with her two cats, Luna and Sol.

Cole Miller he/him (Pit Orchestra) is so pleased to be playing in the pit orchestra for The Prom, which is a show with a very powerful message for all people to hear. He is currently a third year Music Education major with a concentration in Piano. He has taken the Gundlach stage only one other time in his first year playing the wonderful role of Buster Blue Tang in Spongebob the Musical. He is currently a member of the Heidelberg University Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, Chamber Singers, & Studio2Stage.  He can’t wait to finally play this amazing  music for all the wonderful actors/actresses on the stage. He would like to thank his family, friends, and professors for all pushing him to do the best and follow his dreams.

 

Bill Taborn, Jr. he/him/sir/dad/honey…(Orchestra/guitars) is completing a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance at Bowling Green State University. The degree started thirty years after its inception giving rise to the nicknames “Don Quixote” and “Ishmael”. It’s the goal of Bill to be the oldest baccalaureate candidate at the Bowling Green State University College of Music. Mr. Taborn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management, a Master of Business Administration in Operations, Logistics, and Finance. Bill has been involved in musical theater for over forty years as part of The King and I (Eunuch), Oklahoma (Curly), The Pajama Game (Prez), performed with the B.G.S.U. Electric Guitar Ensemble, The Middle Eastern Ensemble, various Jazz Ensembles, party bands, worked with the Perrysburg High School Show Choir, Thomas A. DeVilbiss Choir, Chorale, Barbershop Quartet, Marching Band, Concert Band, Toledo Men’s Choir and assorted church choirs.

Cameron Gaietto he/him (Pit Musician, Clarinet) is a junior music and political science double major at Heidelberg University with a focus on composition and clarinet performance. His passion for both disciplines intersected when he became a founding member and the inaugural President of the Heidelberg New Music Association. The Prom will be the fourth theatre production Cameron has played for, after Chicago: High School Edition (Columbian High School), Anything Goes (The Ritz Theatre), and Oklahoma! (Buckeye Central High School). Cameron would like to thank his family and friends, all the members of the production, and the Members of the Heidelberg New Music Association!

Weston Bollinger He/Him (Pit Orchestra Trumpet/Flugelhorn Player) is excited to perform for The Prom! This will be his first musical performance with Heidelberg University. He is a recent graduate from Tiffin University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Music. He has played trumpet and flugelhorn in the pit for multiple musicals for high school and community productions including The Music Man, Beauty and the Beast, Matilda, The Addams Family, The Sound of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone, and All Shook Up.

Bertha Saucedo She/Her (Pit Orchestra) is a Senior Music Education major and is absolutely eager to be playing Trumpet II for the Main Stage production of The Prom. This is Bertha’s first time playing in a Pit Orchestra for a production put on by Heidelberg’s Theatre. Bertha is involved around campus with Greek life, Concert Choir, OCMEA and has served as the President of the Heidelberg Bands this year. She would like to thank and show appreciation to both Karla Kash and Justin DeLong for allowing her to be a part of this meaningful, vibrant production of The Prom.

Rylan Clarkson He/Him (Trombone/Bass Trombone) is so excited to be playing in Heidelberg University's production of The Prom. He is a brass multi-instrumentalist based in Tiffin Ohio and is pursuing a Bachelors of Music Education with an Instrumental emphasis. He will be playing trombone and this will be his first time playing bass trombone. He has performed for many Theaters in the area including The Ritz, Fremont Community Theatre, and various High School productions.

Bradyn Frankart He/Him (Pit Musician, Drum Set) Bradyn is excited to play the drums for The Prom alongside other talented musicians. Bradyn is an Environmental and Watershed Science major, and this is his first experience participating in theater at the collegiate level. The music for this show has been a blast to play, and he is grateful for the experience this provides. Bradyn would like to thank his friends, family, and the lovely cast and crew for making this all possible.
