Sophia Wilkinson she/her (Alice) Sophia is so excited to be back Heidelberg for her fourth semester of theater! Sophia is a Musical Theater major from Texas. She has also appeared in You Just Never Know (Claire), Trojan Women (chorus), The Prom (Ensemble), Five lesbians eating a quiche (Ginny), and Macbeth (Fleance). The rehearsal process was so 

and so much fun and she really enjoyed working with her amazing cast mates and friends. Sophia would like to thank her parents, best friends, directors, and professors for their endless endless support!!

 

Becca Young She/Her (Mad Hatter/Carpenter/Hatta) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a Concentration in Acting and a minor in Business. She is ecstatic to be a part of Alice, previously performing on the Gundlach stage and the Black Box in Godspell (Ensemble/ Props Designer), 26 Pebbles (Actor 1),Trojan Women (Soldier/ Chorus u/s Menelaus), Birthday Candles (Alice/Madeline/Ernie), Legally Blonde (Kate/D.A. Joyce Riley), and Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors (Jonathan Harker/Lord Cavendish/ Lord Worthington/Lord Have mercy/Gravedigger). You may also have seen her work as props designer for One Man, Two Guvnors, Godspell, The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged), and Legally Blonde. 

Becca would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support, as well as the entire cast and crew for all of their hard work, and dedication! 

 

Lauren Price she/her (Queen of Hearts/RedQueen) Lauren is thrilled to be back on the Gundlach Stage for her sixth semester! Lauren is a junior Musical Theater and Music double major. She has also appeared in Macbeth (Ross),  5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche (Lulie), The Prom (Sheldon Saperstein), Trojan Women (Athena),  The Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Dinah Grayson),  Godspell (Marianne Williamson), Assassins (Ensemble), Circle Mirror Transformation (Lauren), Measure For Measure (Marianna), and Fiorello! (Nina). She serves as the costume shop manager and Concert Choir Attire Coordinator. She is also a member of the Heidelberg University Marching Band and Concert Choir, Tau Mu Sigma Music Honorary,  and Vice President of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honorary. This show has been an honor to work on with her fellow cast, directors, and production team! Bringing such a well known character to life has been an incredible joy! Lauren would like to thank her family, friends, and professors for their endless support!

 

Mackenzie Ludwig from Macomb, Michigan is a senior at Heidelberg University majoring in theatre with a concentration in acting and minor in psychology. In her theatrical performances at Heidelberg University she was previously in Macbeth (Lady Macbeth), Legally Blonde (Serena), Trojan Women (Helen of Troy), The Prom (Ensemble/ Dance Captain), Sweet Delilah Swim Club(Jeri-Neal), You Just Never Know(Mo), Fiorello (Chorus Cutie), Measure for Measure (Varrius), Circle Mirror Transformation (Theresa), and Assassins (Ensemble/dance captain). Along with acting, she was also head of hair and makeup for Trojan Women, 26 Pebbles, Circle Mirror Transformation, One Man Two Guvnors, and The Letter G. Before attending Heidelberg, she was in Pride and Prejudice (Elizabeth Bennet) and Annie (Lily St. Regis) at Eisenhower High School. She is also game-master of the improv group, “Make-a-scene." She also is inducted as a Thespian and Alpha Psi Omega member serving as secretary.

In Mack's professional life, she works as a Party Princess at Tea Party Castle in Shelby Township, Michigan, providing entertainment and magic to children and adults. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career acting in film. Mack enjoys spreading relevant messages through the art of storytelling through several mediums, but specifically her love of theater and film.

Becca Shoemaker She/her (Cheshire Cat, Tiger Lily, Voice of Bottle, Whiting, Co Hair and MakeupDesigner, Assistant Costume Designer) is thrilled to dive into the fantastical world of Alice! Becca is a Sophomore Musical Theatre major at Heidelberg University from Mansfield, Texas. Some of her favorite roles from the past include Cady Heron (Mean Girls the Musical), Giacinta (Scapino), Hecuba (Trojan Women), Sheree Holinger (Sweet Delilah Swim Club), and Pilar (Legally Blonde The Musical). She is also a member of the Heidelberg University Concert Choir and Studio 2 Stage. Special thanks from Becca go to her fellow castmates and director for putting together such a beautiful show, and to her family for always being her biggest cheerleaders.

 

Holly Ashford she/her (Tweedle Dee, Mouse, Eight of Diamonds, Slithy Tove, Porpoise) Holly is so excited to be back on the Gundlach stage for her fourth semester! Holly is a Musical Theater major. She has also appeared in Godspell (Ensemble),  Trojan Women (Ensemble), The Prom (Ensemble), Legally Blonde (Elle), and Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors (Captain, Renfield, Dr. Westfeld). She is also a member of Make A Scene (Improve Group) and Studio2Stage! This show has been an honor to work on with her fellow cast, directors, and production team! Holly would like to thank her family, friends, professors, and God for endless support!

 

Jesse McDaniel She/They (Youth, Tweedledum, Six of Diamonds, Soldier) is honored to be in their first production here at Heidelberg! Jesse is a senior year transfer student majoring in Music Education with a vocal concentration. She is also a member of member of the sorority Zeta Theta Psi and has a myriad of other campus involvements such as Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Heidelberg New Music Association, as well as running their very own treble voice barbershop group! It has been an honor to work with this cast and production team for their hard work they have put into this show! Jesse would like to thank their family, friends, partner, and especially Karla Kash for this honor to get to take over these roles!

 

Hannah Lewis (Duchess, Father William, The Walrus, Props Designer, Set Construction and Puppet Designer) is a junior musical theatre major from Solon, Ohio and she is thrilled to be back up on stage at Gundlach theatre. Hannah also has appeared in various productions on the Heidelberg stage including Macbeth (Banquo), Legally Blonde (Vivienne), Trojan Women (Cassandra), Sweet Delilah Swim Club (Vernidette),The Half Life of Marie Curie (Marie), Assassin's (Squeaky), Measure for Measure (Lucio) and Godspell (By My Side). She has also worked as props, dramaturg, stage management, dialect designer and more on various productions since coming to Heidelberg and has loved the opportunity to work on both sides of the curtain. Hannah is also in concert choir, studio to stage, make a scene, and is the president of Alpha Psi Omega (our theatre honorary). Hannah is grateful to Karla for giving her the opportunity to play around in the world of wonderland. She is excited to reprise the role of Duchess after 9 years. She also wants to thank the cast and crew for all their hard work and commitment to this whimsical wild ride of a production. Most of all she wants to thank her family for all their support as she pursues her dreams. She hopes you enjoy the show!!!

 

Addison Miller She/Her (Humpty Dumpty and Gryphon) is thrilled to start her spring semester of her freshman year with this production! This is Addison’s third production here at Heidelberg! She is from the small town of Armada, Michigan and is a musical theatre major with a minor in business with the hopes to one day open her own theatre company. Addison has previously performed in Heidelberg’s production of Legally Blonde (Ensemble) and Macbeth (Young Siward and Macduff’s son). She would like to thank her parents, sister and grandparents for always supporting her to follow her dreams. She would also like to thank the cast and crew for making this show such a wonderful experience! 

 

Lainey Miller she/her (Knave of Hearts/Fawn/Slithy Tove) is so excited to continue her sophomore year doing Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Lainey is majoring in Theatre with an Acting concentration. At Heidelberg so far she has performed in Godspell (chorus), Trojan Women (Soldier), The Prom (named chorus/Sheldon US), Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche (Dale Prist) and has previously performed in The Little Mermaid (Windward), Peter Pan (Nana/The Croc), Fiddler on the Roof (Frumah-Sarah), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Mrs. Poticher/Judah), and Radium Girls (Ms. Wiley/Irene). She would like to thank her parents and siblings for being so supportive in following her love of theatre into college. Lainey would also like to thank Karla Kash for the opportunities and experience throughout this whole process.

Augie Schweickert he/him (Caterpillar/First Soldier/White King) is super excited to be performing in his first show at Heidelberg! He is a first year student majoring in AYA social studies education with a minor in theater. Augie is a part of the cross country and track team at Heidelberg, as well as being a member of the Concert Choir! He would like to thank the entire Alice cast for being so supportive and welcoming, his wonderful directors for their flexibility!

Simon Fletcher is currently a Junior Vocal Performance Major at Heidelberg and has done four shows in the past here at Gundlach. Assassin's (Ensemble), Godspell (Elton John), The Prom (Trent Oliver), and last semester he was part of the Ensemble in Legally Blonde. Simon also is part of The Heidelberg Concert Choir (Tenor) and also plays Sousaphone/Tuba in the Marching/Concert Band. He hopes you are ready for a truly spectacular show and his rendition of many different characters from Wonderland.

Dermot Healy he/him (Dodgson/King of Hearts/ Unicorn) is excited to be returning to Gundlach in this production of Alice in Wonderland. His other shows include Macbeth(Macbeth), Legally Blonde(Aaron Schultz), The Prom(Mr. Hawkins), 26 Pebbles(Actor 3) You Just Never Know(Geoff), Stephen Sondheim’s Assassins(Charles Guiteau), One Man, Two Guuvnors(Harry Dangle), Measure for Measure(Escalus), Fiorello!(Ensamble), SpongeBob(Gary), The Other Place(Man), Wendy and Peter Pan(Tom), and Chicago(Ensemble).

Dean Morrison He/Him (Voice of Cake, Mock Turtle, Soldier, Red King, Man in White Paper) is super excited to begin his spring semester with the performance of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. He is a first year Musical Theatre and Political Science major with the intentions to go to Law school after he graduates. Dean has been in only two shows ever where he took the roles as Will Bloom in the production Big Fish his senior year of Highschool and Bosun in his first ever Heidelberg production Dracula: Comedy of Terrors. He would like to thank his director Karla Kash for giving him the opportunity to perform in such a wonderful and exciting show and is thankful for the amount of support he gets from his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and you!

Daniel Wahl he/him (White Knight) is very excited to deliver the energy in Alice in Wonderland!! He is from Huntsville OH and he is currently a first year theatre major with a concentration in acting! This is his third show at Gundlach, as he was Dracula in Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors and Assistant Stage Manager in Legally Blonde! He would like to thank the entire cast for making this show so fun and entertaining!

Mia Puente she/her (Ensemble) is so excited to be in her first play at Heidelberg! She is from Spring, Texas, and has been doing theater for a very long time! She is a first-year musical theater major and writing minor. Mia has also performed in Legally Blonde (Ensemble) and Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors (Mina/Van Helsing)! She is also a member of the Heidelberg concert choir! She is so honored to be performing on a college level and would like to thank her parents, friends, and God for always believing in her and helping her get this far!

Sydney Mendez Ensemble is a Junior Musical Theatre major, and is so excited to be playing their ninth show here. Sydney was previously cast in The Prom (Emma Nolan), Godspell (“We Beseech Thee” soloist), Macbeth (Lennox) Legally Blonde, Assassins, Measure for Measure, Fiorello! (Ensemble), and has directed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) in the Black Box. They would like to thank Karla Kash for this opportunity, and their family back home in FL for their love and support!

Marissa Bennett she/her (Magpie, Seven of Spades, Baby Voice, Oyster, Mome Rath) Marissa is so excited to be in her first main stage play at Heidelberg University. She is a second year music education major with a theater minor. She is also vice president of the Heidelberg University symphonic band, member of the Heidelberg University Choir, vice president of the OCMEA, a member of the HNMA, member of Tau Mu Sigma, and the Academic chair of Delta Sigma Chi. She’d like to say that it has been so much fun acting in the world of Alice in Wonderland and she can’t wait to see what rabbit hole she ends up being in next. Marissa would like to thank the production team, directors, and all the friends she has made during the show.

Ethan Kohler (March Hare, Haigha, Aged Aged Man) is a sophomore double major in history and education. He is excited to perform in his second production in the Heidelberg Theatre and wants to thank Karla and the crew for the opportunity to do so. Abigail Luttrell she/her (Fish footman/Three of clubs/Snail/Slithy tove/Oyster) is so excited to start the spring semester of her Freshman year with her first Heidelberg University show! Abby is a double Biochemistry and Biology major with a double minor in Theater and Business. Previously she has performed in Shrek the musical (Thelonius/Tap rat), Clue (Miss White), Legually Blonde (Dance team), and To Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. She is also a part of Heidelberg’s Improv troupe Make-A-Scene. This show has been an honor for her to work on with her fellow cast, directors, and production team! Abby would like to thank her family and friends for their amazing and endless support!

Diaunte Griffin he/him Gibsonburg, Ohio (2 of Spades/Slithy Tove/Beetle/Oyster/Lion/ U/S for White Rabbit) is ecstatic for this production of Alice In Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass to be viewed by so many people! Diaunte is a first-year here at Heidelberg University and is grateful to make so many wonderful memories with these people. He is glad to be able to call his peers friends and family.

Hannah Robinson she/her Hamilton, Ohio (Five of Spades/Snail/Borogove/Goat/Oyster) is excited to be in her first Heidelberg production, Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. She is a first year Computer Science major with minors in Theater and Video Game Production. Hannah has only been in two other shows, Shrek the Musical(Tweedledee), and Once Upon a Mattress(Lady Luck), performing with her high school drama club. She would like to thank Karla Kash for giving her the opportunity to perform in this play. She is also thankful to her friends and family for their love and support.

Alexandria Sica, she/her (Edith & Eaglet/Ensemble), is so excited to make her college theater debut doing Alice in Wonderland! She is a sophomore majoring in Child Psychology and Primary Education with a minor in Communications. Alexandria is from Dover, Ohio. She holds many leadership roles on campus, such as Colorguard Captain, VP of Poetry Princes, and VP of events for It’s On Us. Alexandria is also involved in sideline cheer, CRU, HNMA, Theater, and concert band. She wants to express gratitude to her parents, Tiffany and Alex Sica, for everything they have sacrificed for her to be here getting an education! She could not be more grateful. She would also like to shout out her two sisters, Mikaylah and Emma sica, and her boyfriend, Owen Taylor, for always being there to support her dreams.

Karla Kash, She/Her (Director/Fight and Intimacy Director). Professor Kash is grateful to be working with this creative cast and gifted production team on Alice. Ms. Kash has previously directed productions of The Prom, Godspell, Assassins, Wendy and Peter Pan, SpongeBob the Musical, Macbeth, and Measure for Measure at Heidelberg, and she has also choreographed Fiorello!  

 

Professor Kash is in her fourth year as an Associate Professor and Director of Theatre at Heidelberg University. This year marks her twentieth year as a full-time educator at the university level. Karla feels blessed to be a part of the Heidelberg team and the Tiffin community.

 

Ms. Kash is a professional director and choreographer and a member of the Society of Directors and Choreographers. She is also a professional actor and an Actors' Equity Association member. Additionally, she is a fight director trained in six weapons by the Society of American Fight Directors and trained in intimacy direction. Ms. Kash is certified in Mental Health First Aid and has completed Green Dot training.

 

Some of Ms. Kash’s favorite roles as an actor are Barbara in August: Osage County at Repertory Theatre of Iowa; Susan in the musical [title of show] and Becca in Rabbit Hole at StageWest; Diana in Next to Normal at Des Moines Onstage; Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet at American Theatre for Actors in NYC (and was the production's fight director); and Martha in A Piece of My Heart at the Metropolitan Playhouse, NYC. Karla’s most incredible experience as an actor is playing Josie in A Moon for the Misbegotten opposite her mentor, the late Jonathan McMurtry, at North Coast Repertory Theatre in Solana Beach, CA, under the direction of David Ellenstein.

 

Ms. Kash’s favorite productions as a professional director, choreographer, and/or fight director are Parade, Jerry Springer the Opera, Spring Awakening, and Avenue Q for StageWest; West Side Story, Rock of Ages, and The Wedding Singer for The Des Moines Playhouse; The Glass Menagerie, Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It, and Twelfth Night for The Repertory Theatre of Iowa; The World Goes ‘Round for The International Lyric Academy in Italy; and Shipwrecked at The Black Hills Playhouse. A career highlight for Karla was doing the fight direction for the Broadway National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles.

 

Ms. Kash earned a BFA in Acting with an emphasis in Dance, Directing, and Musical Theatre from Wright State University and an MFA in Acting with a focus on Classical Theatre and Movement Studies from Brandeis University. 

 

Professor Kash's proudest accomplishment in her educational career was receiving the distinguished Madlyn Levitt Mentor of the Year award at Drake University, where she was also granted tenure.

 

 

Dr. Doug McConnell (he/him, Composer) is Professor Emeritus of Composition and Music for the School of Music and Theatre at Heidelberg University His compositions have been performed throughout the U.S. and internationally. Doug has written for a variety of performing mediums, but he especially enjoys writing for voices; his work in this area includes a variety of works for choirs. He has also composed several song cycles and collections, based on poetry by Langston Hughes, Sara Teasdale and William Reyer. Over the years, Dr. McConnell has composed incidental music/sound design for the Heidelberg Theatre program; this tradition continues with this production. Previous shows include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Oedipus Rex, Lysistrata, Eurydice, Measure for Measure, The Trojan Women and Macbeth.

Dr. McConnell’s new CD/steaming project, While I Run This Race was released in November 2025; it includes two major chamber works (Langston’s Lot, for tenor voice, alto saxophone, piano), and While I Run this Race, for piano trio. Both compositions have been performed at Heidelberg. The release also features two organ pieces performed by his wife Joan. Cameron Gaietto he/him (Co-Music Director) is a senior music and political science double major at Heidelberg University. His passion for both disciplines intersected when he became a founding member and the inaugural President of the Heidelberg New Music Association. Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass marks Cameron's debut as a music director. Prior to Alice, he performed as a pit musician in four productions: Chicago: High School Edition (Columbian High School), Anything Goes (The Ritz Theatre), Oklahoma! (Buckeye Central High School) and The Prom (Heidelberg University). Cameron would like to thank everyone in the cast and crew for their incredible work on this show, and to thank Sarah Jewell in particular for giving him the opportunity to work with her as Co-Music Director.

Milana (Millie) Robbins she/her (Production Stage Manager) is ecstatic to be participating in theater in her Junior year! She has participated in the International Academy of Macomb’s productions Alice in Wonderland (Lead Set Designer/Backstage Crew), Romeo and Juliet (Lead Set Designer/Backstage Crew), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Lead Set Designer/Lead Stage Manager). She also partook in Gundlach Theatre’s production of Fiorello! (Assistant Stage Manager), Measure For Measure (Assistant Stage Manager), One Man Two Guvnors (Assistant Stage Manager), Assassins (Assistant Stage Manager), Godspell (Production Stage Manager), and Legally Blonde (Production Stage Manager). Millie would like to thank her parents for their unconditional support through each production and her assistant stage managers for making the job go as smoothly as it did!  

 

Wren Johnston he/him (Assistant Stage Manager) is a first year Musical Theatre and Elementary Education major taking on his first stage management role at Heidelberg University. Wren is from Wyoming, Michigan and most commonly performs but loves to work in all aspects of the theatre. A few more notable credits of his are Nikos/Kiki in Legally Blonde, Malcolm in Macbeth, and Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. Wren also designed Hair and Makeup for Superhero and hopes to take on more production roles in the future. In addition to shows Wren also partakes in Heidelberg’s Studio2Stage ensemble, and the Make-A-Scene improv troupe. 

 

Sam Barker (He/Him) (Scenic Charge) is a recent Theater Production graduate of Heidelberg University. He is thankful for the opportunity to now work in the same theater that he spent so many hours in as a student. Some of his last works as a student included Legally Blonde (Assistant Stage Manager/Scenic Charge), Rocky Horror Picture Show (Set Designer/Prop Designer), and Macbeth (Co-Stage Manager/Scenic Charge/Assistant Costume Designer). Sam would like to thank Karla Kash and Sue Hlavinka for this opportunity and his friends and family for all of their support.

 

Ace Bragg He/they, Norwalk, OH (Sound Mixer/assistant stage manager) is a first year theater production major who is very excited to start their second semester off with Alice In Wonderland! Ace has previously worked on MacBeth (Sound Mixer), and is excited to continue their Heidelberg life working on future shows. He is also a member of the Heidelberg Marching band and stage band. Ace enjoyed every bit of this production, and can't wait for the productions they work on with this wonderful cast and crew in the future.
